Erik Quaeghebeur

(Assistant) Professor

Eindhoven University of Technology

Erik obtained his engineering and PhD degrees from the Ghent University (Belgium). He also studied at the University Joseph Fourier (Grenoble, France; Erasmus-exchange) and obtained a postgraduate at the University of Louvain (Belgium). He has previously worked as an academic at Ghent University (‘02–‘09, ‘10–‘13), Carnegie Mellon University (‘09–‘10, visiting scholar), Utrecht University (‘12–‘13, visiting scholar), the University of Liège (‘13–‘15, guest lecturer), the CWI (Amsterdam, ‘13–‘15), and Delft University of Technology (‘15–‘19). He is active in SIPTA and has been a member of its Executive Committee as Secretary, Treasurer, and At-Large member. He has performed research on probabilistic uncertainty models (learning from data, generalizations, optimization, inference, elicitation) and wind energy systems (knowledge base creation, data analysis, surrogate modeling, probabilistic design, optimization, and uncertainty quantification). Erik joined Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in September 2020 as an Assistant Professor in the Data and Artificial Intelligence cluster.
